Preserving future generations

"Change to Organic Pesticides Gironde" (COP Gironde)  defends biodiversity, in other words all living beings as well as ecosystems whose interdependence cannot be ignored.
This term " ecosystem " includes of course the interactions of species with each other and with their environments. We are part of it, we are one of the links in this biodiversity.

The fight of COP Gironde aims to protect this environment which is undermined by a number of human practices which directly threaten our health. Among them, pollution, pesticides ...
It is a mistake to think that there is nothing we can do about governments and lobbies.  Everyone can act at their level and do their part of the hummingbird!
To inform, I chose to use ARTS, MUSIC, SINGING and to put them at the service of an essential cause, that of the defense of the living.

Indeed,  music as a cultural production participates in social life, it is a social link and as the ethnomusicologist John Blacking underlined in "Le sens musical"  " being organized sound, music expresses aspects of the experience of individuals in society ". 
What could be more natural, in this case, than to associate it with our steps. Let us put this experience at the service of the protection of our environment. In the arts, music does not work  not alone. It is the same for the poet, the writer, the singer, the actor, the dancer, or the painter… each in their own way sometimes put their art at the service of great commitments and noble causes. In this quest to defend biodiversity which aims for the survival of all species, I am fortunate to be accompanied by a number of supports, certainly artistic, but also those of certain scientists, including that of Doctor REYMONDON.

Genesis of the association

Why did I create DCM in 2011 and then CO .P Gironde in 2014?

In 1997, during my overseas stay in Reunion Island (embarked National Navy), I met a Vietnamese musician, founding president of an association whose goal is to come to the aid of the victims of " Agent Orange "in Vietnam, victims among whom we have counted many children -" Agent Orange "having been the greatest genocide of the twentieth century.
Since then in 2011, being retired, therefore more available and convinced that "you can also change everything by singing", I created the DCM association, considering the ARTS, including MUSIC, as "a weapon" peaceful movement capable of mobilizing public opinion to remedy the destructive practices of the chemical industry, which affect man and nature.
In the same logic in 2014, I created, with a friend who has now disappeared, the association COP Gironde - with as leitmotif, the phrase of the Bordeaux philosopher Jacques ELLUL "We must think Global and act Local".
Today in 2021,  COP Gironde considers that we must act globally and locally, keeping in mind two key words "Humanity / Biodiversity". Two words that have become inseparable.
